Jujutsu Kaisen season 2

The highly anticipated second season of Jujutsu Kaisen is almost here, and Crunchyroll has revealed exactly when the highly anticipated season gets released.

Based on the best-selling manga of the same name, Jujutsu Kaisen took the anime world by storm, when it debuted in 2020. Fans across the globe fell in love with Yuji Itadori and his fellow Jujutsu Sorcerers (specifically Gojo) and have been eagerly waiting for the series to return for its sophomore season.

Jujutsu Kaisen revolves around the concept of curses, but Gege Akutami's manga, and the anime that followed, is anything but cursed. Since the launch of the franchise in March 2018, the source material has already become one of the best-selling mangas of all time. The anime is breaking all kinds of records too, most notably with the recent prequel movie, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.

We finally know that Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 will start airing from July 6, 2023. The show will be streaming on Crunchyroll in all territories with new episodes premiering every Thursday, after its broadcast in Japan. We're expecting the show to air through until the end of the year, meaning the upcoming season will likely last for at least 20 episodes, potentially more. The first season ran for 24 episodes.

Everyone’s favorite Jujutsu warriors will be back to wage a war against cursed spirits, in whatever form they take. Season 2 promises to be even more chaotic, with new dangerous foes to take down. Here’s when the show is coming out.

While we don't have an exact episode count for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 just yet, we do have an official confirmation that the story will be told over ‘two consecutive cours’.

In simple terms, we can expect another 24-episode season as, typically, cours last for around 12 episodes in anime.

The first cour will cover the manga's Gojo's Past chapters in the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc for five episodes. The series will then take a brief break, airing a Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 recap on August 10, a Season 1 recap on August 17, before going on hiatus on August 24. The Shibuya Incident will begin on August 31.

If the season airs (relatively) uninterrupted, it will go from July 2023 to December 2023. The current release schedule looks like this:

  • Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, episode 1: July 6, 2023
  • Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, episode 2: July 13, 2023
  • Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, episode 3: July 20, 2023
  • Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, episode 4: July 27, 2023
  • Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, episode 5: August 3, 2023
  • Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 recap: August 10, 2023
  • Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 recap: August 17, 2023
  • Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, episode 6: August 31, 2023

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 should be available to watch via streaming on Crunchyroll, shortly after July 6, 2023, its Japan launch date. However, Crunchyroll is yet to confirm that it will be streaming the second season.

If it comes to Crunchyroll, current subscribers will be able to watch the series when it airs. If you haven’t already subscribed to the service, you’ll either need to pay the fee or use a free trial.

Viewers should be able to stream Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 by signing up for a Crunchyroll account. However, it’s worth waiting for official confirmation that Season 2 will be coming to the platform. For now, Crunchyroll only has Season 1 available. We await official confirmation that the platform will host Season 2.

There are currently no platforms that have the rights to Watch Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Movie Online. MAPPA has decided to air the movie only in theaters because it has been a huge success. The studio, on the other hand, does not wish to divert revenue. Streaming the movie would only slash the profits, not increase them.

As a result, no streaming services are authorized to offer Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Movie for free. The film would, however, very definitely be acquired by services like Funimation, Netflix, and Crunchyroll. As a last consideration, which of these outlets will likely distribute the film worldwide?

Crunchyroll, along with Funimation, has acquired the rights to the film and will be responsible for its distribution in North America. Therefore, we recommend our readers to look for the movie on the streamer in the coming months. In the meantime, subscribers can also watch dark fantasy shows like ‘Jujutsu Kaisen.‘

Jujutsu Kaisen 1 aired at the turn of 2020 and 2021, with 24 episodes split into two cours. The popularity pushed MAPPA Studio to make a Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, based on the events of some prequel chapters designed by Gege Akutami.

The movie interrupted the flow of the main story temporarily. Fans were sure that as soon as JJK Season 1 last episode airs, the makers will announce the sequel Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 which came in February during a post-opening stage event for Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The announcement came as the film had already achieved significant success, earning over $85.1 million since its release on December 24 in Japanese theaters.

According to the preview trailer shared on the official Twitter account of Jujutsu Kaisen, the highly anticipated second season is set to premiere on July 6, 2023.

Since Funimation has rights to the film like Crunchyroll, its official website may include the movie in its catalog in the near future. Meanwhile, people who wish to watch something similar can stream ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train.’

Amazon Prime’s current catalog does not include ‘Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.’ However, the film may eventually release on the platform as video-on-demand in the coming months. Therefore, fans need to regularly look for dark fantasy movies on Amazon Prime’s official website. Viewers who are looking for something similar can watch the original show ‘Dororo.’

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, the latest installment in the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 franchise, is not coming to Disney+. This new movie promises to be just as exciting as the previous ones, with plenty of action and adventure to keep viewers entertained. If you’re looking forward to watching it, you may be wondering when it will be available for your Disney+ subscription. Here’s an answer to that question!

You can also rent or buy the movie on iTunes or Google Play. You can also watch it on-demand or on a streaming app available on your TV or streaming device, if you have cable.

The official confirmation of the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has been posted in the news forum of one of the biggest anime streaming platforms, Crunchyroll.

Considering the series has been simulcast on Crunchyroll in the past and taking into account the merger between Crunchyroll and Funimation, there is a strong possibility that the Jujutsu Kaisen 2 will either be simulcast on Crunchyroll or become available on the platform.

According to the latest information released on JJK’s official website, the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 simulcast is indeed scheduled to have a premiere on Thursday, July 6, both in Japan and for international fans.

Weekly Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episodes will initially air for domestic audiences in Japan via the MBC/TBS TV networks. The broadcast is scheduled for 11:56 PM. This timing allows Japanese viewers to watch the episodes as they premiere on television. International fans can anticipate that these episodes will become available through various streaming platforms or other distribution channels at a later time, allowing them to enjoy the new episodes as well.

Pacific Time – 7:56 AM

Eastern Time – 10:56 AM

British Time – 3:56 PM

European Time – 4:56 PM

India Time – 8:26 PM

Philippine Time – 10:56 PM

Australia Eastern Standard Time – 12:56 AM

Jujutsu Kaisen 2 will be available for streaming on Netflix in Southeast Asia, India, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. This expands the reach of the series to a wider audience in those regions.

For viewers outside Asia, Crunchyroll will be the streaming platform where the Jujutsu Kaisen 2 simulcast can be enjoyed. The episodes are expected to release approximately one hour after the domestic broadcast in Japan. This allows international fans to catch the latest episodes shortly after they air in Japan, minimizing the waiting time. Although there is no confirmation yet, fans can expect Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Dub to air on Crunchyroll sometime later. The platform has managed to rank among one of the best ways for fans outside Asia to watch anime.

While Season 2’s plot remains a mystery, Jujutsu Kaisen’s official synopsis reads:

Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcize a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.

Here are the main Japanese and English voice actors who we assume will return for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2:

• Yuji Itadori – Junya Enoki (Japanese); Adam McArthur (English)

• Megumi Fushiguro – Yuma Uchida (Japanese); Robbie Daymond (English)

• Nobara Kugisaki – Asami Seto (Japanese); Anne Yatco (English)

• Maki Zen'in – Mikako Komatsu (Japanese); Allegra Clark (English)

• Toge Inumaki – Kōki Uchiyama (Japanese); Xander Mobus (English)

• Panda – Tomokazu Seki (Japanese); Matthew David Rudd (English)

• Satoru Gojo – Yūichi Nakamura (Japanese); Kaiji Tang (English)

• Kiyotaka Ijichi – Mitsuo Iwata (Japanese); Chris Tergliafera (English)

• Shoko Ieiri – Aya Endō (Japanese); Ryan Bartley (English)

But what about Yuta Okkotsu, the main character who stars in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2? The manga strongly suggests that he'll appear in the main show very soon. A post-credits scene in the prequel movie pretty much confirms that too.
