Trio sparks scare with coronavirus-like symptoms around Jharkhand

Three men who returned to their villages from Mumbai on Sunday sparked fear among residents after two of them were found with coronavirus-like symptoms. Neighbours of a 28-year-old man, who works as a cook in a Mumbai hotel, assembled outside his house at Nawadih in Ichak and asked him to leave the village or get himself tested. Later, doctors at Hazaribagh Medical College and Hospital screened him and asked him to stay at home. At Garba village in Padma block, a 27-year-old man was referred to a Ranchi hospital to confirm whether he has coronavirus or not. Doctors at Keredari health centre examined a 32-year-old man and advised self-isolation at home.

RIMS suspended its out patient department till further orders, informed RIMS director on Sunday evening.

Youths nabbed

Shao and Gurang Senapati were arrested with as many country-made pistols from Golmuri police station area late on Saturday night. The youths were arrested when they were doing a recce on a businessman.

Body found

The decomposed body of Steel Strip Mills employee Ghanshyam Singh, 33, was found in his bathroom in Telco area on Sunday. A probe is on.

Quarantine

Two passengers, who arrived in Deekshabhumi Express on Sunday, were taken to PMCH on suspicion of novel coronavirus but after tests no symptoms of Covid-19 were found in them. “We have sent the two to home quarantine. We will review the situation after visiting their homes regularly,” said civil surgeon Gopal Das.
