Jharkhand government's thrust on skills to make youths job-ready

The JMM-Congress-RJD-CPIML-led government is working on its plan to fill up over 30,000 government job vacancies through recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission and the Jharkhand Public Service Commission

The Hemant Soren-led government in Jharkhand is planning to provide jobs to youths after giving them skill-development training.

The JMM-Congress-RJD-CPIML-led government is working on its plan to fill up over 30,000 government job vacancies through recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission and the Jharkhand Public Service Commission.

Addressing a "skill stakeholders connect" in Ranchi organised by the Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society, the state's labour, planning and training minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav announced that the government has set a target of providing jobs to 2.2 lakh youths in 2025.

Yadav said: "The youth will be given skill development training and will be linked to employment. We have set a target of 2.2 lakh youths for 2025. Directives have been issued in this direction and we are working on skill development of youths on a war footing."

"Skill development plays an important role in promoting economic development and social change in the state and the country. It is our social responsibility to identify the real potential and talent of the youth and encourage them so that they can move forward towards their goal,” Yadav, who is also an RJD leader, stressed.

“The industry representatives and employers have been emphasising skill development training according to the requirements of the respective industries,” he said.

On this occasion, the officials of the Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society said that so far 5.25 lakh youth have been given skill development training. Of these, 4.5 lakh youth have been certified and 2.25 lakh have been provided employment.

Eight migration assistance centres have been opened in seven states for the migration of employed youths at the national level.
