Tata Steel is all set to celebrate the 183rd birth anniversary of its founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata on March 3. The annual celebration this year will be themed around “Life@TataSteel – Build the tomorrow you deserve”.
Every year, Tata Steel along with other Tata group companies celebrates the birth anniversary of the founder and his vision of an industrial future with community welfare at its core.
Life@TataSteel will reflect life where profession meets passion, ambition meets compassion and work meets leisure. It is aimed at showcasing how the company continues to build an organisation where people work harmoniously to build a better tomorrow for self and the world.
JN Tata had begun his entrepreneurial journey with a textile mill in central India in the 1870s. His vision inspired the steel and power industry in India, set the foundation for technical education, and helped the country leapfrog to join the ranks of industrialised nations.
Tata Steel vice-president ( Corporate Services), Chanakya Chaudhury said the event is being planned with the current Covid-19 safety protocols and ensuring that all stakeholders can enjoy initiatives planned and pay their respects to J N Tata.
He said one of the key features of this year’s celebration will be the illumination of more than 30 landmark spots in Jamshedpur including heritage buildings, places of worship, dozens of roundabouts, etc.
"The use of colorful lights as a key part of the celebrations will be a welcome reminder to citizens and visitors on the beauty of the city, " he said.
Further, the Founder's Day celebrations at Jamshedpur Works will be live streamed for employees along with broadcasting Facebook live on Tata Steel official handle which can be viewed by people worldwide. The sports activities at JRD Sports Complex are being planned with limited participation.
Homage will be paid to the Founder at Jubilee Park on March 2. Founder’s Day Celebrations will take place at Jamshedpur works in the morning on March 3. Founder’s Day programme will also take place at the Postal Park in Bistupur on March 3.
An exhibition is planned at the Steelenium Hall inside Jamshedpur works on March 3. The Founder’s Day Sports will take place at JRD Tata Sports Complex on March 3. Traffic movement will be restricted inside Jubilee Park from March 2- 4 for safety reasons.
Visitors will not be allowed to go inside Jubilee Park from March 2- 4 due to Covid-19 restrictions. Illuminations will be done only around the area of the statue inside the Jubilee Park. Chairman Tata Sons N Chandrasekaran to pay homage to the founder on March 2 at the Jubilee Park.
