The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday announced its first list of 52 candidates for the Jharkhand Assembly polls.
Chief minister Raghubar Das will contest from Jamshedpur (East), while the BJP's state unit president Lakshman Gilua has been fielded from Chakradharpur, party general secretary Arun Singh said at a press conference in New Delhi in presence of party working president J. P. Nadda.
Jharkhand will vote in five phases, with the first one on November 30 and the last on December 20. Results will be declared on December 23.
While the first phase of the polls will take place November 30 in which 13 constituencies will vote, the second phase in which 20 constituencies will go to polls will take place December 7.
Seventeen constituencies will vote on December 12 in the third phase.
The polling for the fourth phase, which will have 15 constituencies voting, will be held on December 16.
The last phase where 16 constituencies will go to polls will take place on December 20.
Jharkhand has an 81-member Assembly, which expires on January 5, 2020.
