IPL 2022: Eleven state players drafted in the auction list

Ishan Kishan has the highest base price of Rs 2 crore, while Varun Aaron and Saurabh Tiwary have a 50 lakh reserve prize

Eleven players from Jharkhand will go under the hammer during the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction to be held in Bangalore on February 12 and 13.

The state cricketers include Saurabh Tiwary, Ishank Jaggi, Virat Singh, Vaun Aaron, Shahbaz Nadeem, Rahul Shukla, Ishan Kishan, Anukul Roy, Utkarsh Singh, Sumit Mishra and Shubham Singh, according to the list released by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The tournament commences on March 27.

Team India wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has the highest base price of Rs 2 crore, while former Test pacer Aaron, left-arm spinner Nadeem and ex-ODI batsman Tiwary have a reserve price of Rs 50 lakh each. The rest of the 7 players from Jharkhand have a base price of Rs 20 lakh each.

Kishan, Tiwary, Roy (all Mumbai Indians), Virat and Nadeem (both Sunrisers Hyderabad) were part of the cash-rich 2021 IPL.

With the addition of two new teams - Lucknow Super Giants and Ahmedabad, BCCI has decided to make the ceremony grand this time. A total of 590 players are on the auction list.

Amongst 590 players, 228 are capped players, 355 are uncapped players and 7 belong to Associate Nations.

The 10 IPL franchises – Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Team Ahmedabad have already announced the retained players for the upcoming season and will look to complete their squad strength through bidding wars in the IPL 2022 auction.

The highest base price reserved for the auctions is INR 2 crore as 48 players have opted to name themselves in this category. 20 players have registered their name in the INR 1.5 crore. While 34 players are on the list of cricketers with a reserve price of INR 1 crore.

Out of 590, 370 are Indians while 220 are the overseas players who will go under the hammer on a two-day auction ceremony. From the overseas section, Australia has the most number of players who will be up for sale - 47, while West Indies 34 and South Africa 33 are second and third in the list.

Several star Indian players like Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, R Ashwin, Mohammad Shami, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav are expected to start the bidding war amongst the franchise.

While overseas stars like Faf du Plessis, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Quinton de Kock, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Holder, Dwayne Bravo, Shakib Al Hasan and Wanindu Hasaranga are expected to be bought at a fortune.
