Books give freedom to creativity and imagination. While reading a book, the same story, the same plot, the same character can be pictured differently by each reader. Books do not curtail one’s ingenuity unlike television, which imprints a singular image onto the minds of all the viewers.

Detailed descriptions

Television programmes are fast-paced to keep viewers from switching channels. Books include much more details than TV shows, and yet lead to the use of imagination to fill in the gaps.

Never tiresome

Books can provide entertainment even without electricity. They have been entertaining for ages. Plus, do we like it when television series stretch on endlessly? But we never tire of diving into the worlds books offer us. Not to forget that books give birth to many a film or series that we get to watch on the television.

Only a corner needed

Books provide entertainment to those who need nothing except a corner to transport them to a different world. Moreover, watching television is harmful if overdone but an overdose of books never harms. One retains what one has read, revisiting the pleasures umpteen times. With TV, shows are forgotten soon.

Offers bonding time

Books are cherished in solitude. In this age of isolation, television offers the scope to strengthen bonds with family members and friends over football matches, music, films. Stories on paper are transformed into flesh-and-blood characters through actors playing them out. We also get to see iconic artistes perform live.

Effortless medium

Switch on the TV, sit back and enjoy without any effort. It adds colour to our life with its wide range of music, drama, documentaries, etc. Children who do not like reading too can get inspired through movies or serials on notable people.

Faster process

Television gives us the visual presentation of the script of a book. The visual story is more interesting than reading the book and imagining what it looks like. Also, it takes us days to complete a book.
