More pressure
The aim behind merging JEE Main and NEET with CUET is to have one entrance exam, which, UGC claims, would reduce the burden of having to prepare for multiple entrances. I believe it is a bad idea. It will increase competition as well as the difficulty level of the exam. Plus everything rests on a single exam, therefore the pressure of performing well on a single day would be too high.

Too many subjects
The merger may be good for students who have a grip on all the subjects but is a problem for the ones who don’t. Students who score well in biology and chemistry but are weak in mathematics, physics or computer science will be in trouble.
Sohini Dutta Class X, Loreto Day School Bowbazar, Calcutta
Illogical idea
A student who is preparing to become an engineer will have to study biology while a medical aspirant will have to study maths, which is unnecessary. Meanwhile, students who want to join a non-professional stream will also have to prepare himself or herself for biology and maths when the inability to grasp one of these subjects may have been the reason for him or her to opt for a non-professional course. That is why it is both unscientific and illogical to merge all entrance exams.
Souranil Basak Class XII, Muraripukur Government Sponsored Higher Secondary School, Calcutta
Amplifies weakness
Students who choose NEET are generally weak in maths and computers. If the exams are merged, they will have to answer papers in both these subjects too and their scores will decrease. Somehow, doing that knowingly seems rather cruel.

NO
No logistical problems
Students will not have to manage exam dates or worry about the logistics of travelling to different exam centres. All they have to do is to study NCERT books of classes XI and XII. It will solve the problem of overlapping in national-level admission tests.

Similar subjects
JEE consists of subjects like physics, chemistry and mathematics while NEET consists of physics, chemistry and biology. Since the subjects are common, the burden on students will be reduced to a great extent if the three examinations are merged.
