Meet the speakers:
Tenzing Niyogi, CEO, Ultimate Kho Kho League: An alumnus of Hindu College, Delhi University, Tenzing has a Masters in Sports Management. He has worked at Tiger Sports Marketing, celebrity management firm Globosport, led the north India market for Sports Sponsorship & Events at CNBC TV18, and the Special Events, Marketing & Distribution portfolio at TEN Golf. In 2017 as the Sports Advisory - Segment Leader, Ernst & Young, he worked alongside multiple sports leagues, governing bodies, sports rights holders and investors. Tenzing is currently developing India’s first professional Kho Kho league, to be launched in 2021.
Paul Walsh, Founder, Jungle Crows: Paul Walsh came to live in Kolkata in 2002 as a British Diplomat and has lived here ever since. When he started a rugby club called the Kolkata Jungle Crows with some friends in 2004, little did he think of the impact this would have on his life and others. After completing his diplomatic tour in 2006, Paul has taken on a variety of roles in business, culture and sports. The rugby club soon morphed into a social organisation, supporting children through school and college. The Khelo Rugby project of Jungle Crows has been recognised around the world for its track record in sports for development. Paul received the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his contribution to rugby.
Ranadeep Moitra, Strength and Conditioning Coach: India’s first Strength and Conditioning Coach from the National Strength and Conditioning Association of India, Ranadeep juggles multiple hats as a Clinical Exercise Coach from the American Council on Exercise; Corrective Exercise Coach from the CHEK Institute; and a qualified Golf Bio mechanist. He has been the fitness coach of Team India’s cricket team (2004-5), East Bengal Football Club (2006-10) and the Indian Golf Squad (2010-18). He’s a former first-class cricketer, and owns and runs three corrective exercise studios, called Endorphins, in Calcutta.
Saurav Chatterjee, Founder, Director and CEO, High Life Management: Having captained the Calcutta Cricket & Football Club (CCFC) in three major sports, Saurav started his career in the tea and shipping industries before moving back to the world of sports to head marketing for Star Sports, India. In 2000, he joined India’s first sports management company - Professional Management Group (PMG), owned by cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar - as the CEO. In 2004, he returned to Kolkata to start High Life Management, which specializes in the grassroots development of sport. He is also the Director and Co-founder of ‘Best of you, India’, India's leading player management agency in football.
Amitava Dasgupta, Senior Sports Journalist: A post-graduate in Economics from Calcutta University, Amitava joined The Telegraph as a trainee journalist and rose through the ranks to be second-in-command in the Sports team. After a 21-year stint at The Telegraph, he joined the Kolkata edition of The Times of India where he worked for 12 years before retiring as the Sports Editor in early 2020. In a career spanning almost three-and-a-half decades, Amitava has covered several major events like the Wimbledon and French Open, ATP meets, Davis Cup, Asian Games, SAF Games, ICC World T20 championship, IPL, Ranji Trophy, and the National Games.
