Galgotias University, a private university in Greater Noida, has recently had some of its courses accredited by the National Board of Accreditation or NBA. The accreditation is based on extremely stringent criteria and very few private educational institutes in the country have been able to gain the NBA stamp. The courses that were accredited are computer science, electronics and communication, and mechanical engineering. The accreditation was accorded on the basis of academic excellence, remarkable placement and advance research facilities. The university is usually able to gain placement for more than 91 per cent of its management and engineering students. Most Indian and international companies as well as recruiting agencies prefer students who have pursued NBA-accredited programmes.

NBA accreditation also makes students eligible for various central and state governments scholarships. Students pursuing accredited courses are also preferred for admission by foreign universities
