The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CICSE) board has declared the Class 10, 12 examination results.
To know the result online, a candidate can log onto the council’s website www.cisce.org or www.cisce.results.org and click on the link “Results 2020”. An ICSE (Class X) student will have to click on the “ICSE” link and an ISC (Class XII) examinee on the “ISC” link from the “course” option.
A student can access the result by entering her or his unique ID and CAPTCHA as shown on the screen.
To know the result through SMS, a student will have to type ICSE or ISC her/his unique ID number and send the message to 09248082883.
Individual schools can access the results online by logging onto the “CAREERS” portal of the CISCE using the principal’s ID and password. For any doubt a school can contact the CISCE helpdesk at ciscehelpdesk@orionic.com or call 1800-267-1760.
Nearly 300,000 examinees have taken both exams, which began in February. The ICSE exams were to end on March 30 and the ISC exams the next day. Both exams were suspended on March 18 as a preventive measure against Covid-19.
As per the results announced, a total of 2,06,525 candidates have cleared the class 10 exams, known as the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), while 1,377 candidates have been unsuccessful.
The class 12 exams, called the Indian School Certificate (ISC) exam, have been cleared by 85,611 candidates while 2,798 students have been unsuccessful.
"Given the exceptional circumstances, this year CISCE will not be publishing a merit list for either the ICSE or ISC year 2020 Examinations," CICSE Chief Executive and Secretary Gerry Arathoon said.
"This year has been an exceptionally difficult year for everyone due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the multiple national and states' lockdowns, coupled with many other related problems," he added.
The board had last week announced an alternate assessment scheme for the two classes after the pending exams were cancelled in view of a spike in Covid-19 cases.
As per the scheme, candidates have been assessed based on the best three percentage marks obtained in subjects for which board exams were conducted and the marks of their internal assessment as well as project work was taken into account.
The tests on the pending papers were finally cancelled. A formula was devised to assess the students in the pending papers.
Students unhappy with their results can apply for a recheck online through www.cisce.org from July 10 to July 16.
