The pre-book e-CHAT exam conducted by the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) will be held on January 23 and 30 this year.

The e-CHAT (Electronic Common Hospitality Admission Test) is a home-based online exam that offers students the opportunity to confirm or pre-book their seats at IIHM even before appearing for their Class XII board examinations.

The exam is conducted for various courses offered at IIHM, including BSc in hotel management, catering and tourism, BA in hospitality management, and advance diploma in International Hospitality Administration.

Students can register the January 23 examination till noon on January 22 and for the January 30 exam till noon on January 29. Candidates will need to fill in their name, contact details and pay a fee. On completion of registration, students will receive admit cards with a link to the exam portal.

After the results are published, the candidates can pre-book their seats by making a partial payment of the course fee. The rest of the fees can be paid when the students join the course of their choice after the Class XII board
exams.

The candidates will be selected on the basis of e-CHAT results and Class XII board exam marks. If the candidates fail to register for e-CHAT this year, they can also apply for test next year.

Important points to remember for IIHM e-CHAT 2021:

  • Students can take the exam before Class XII board exams for admission to IIHM
  • On clearing e-CHAT, candidates will have to appear for a group discussion session and personal interview to qualify. The group discussion session is tentative this year because of COVID-19 precautions.
  • A selection letter will be sent to candidates who qualify. Candidates can also check their results by logging in with their registration details.
