Greater freedom
Generation Z refers to the people born between 1990 and 2010. Compared to permanent jobs, gigs have more flexibility and the opportunity for self-development. Gig workers have an amount of autonomy. As they work for a variety of institutions, they also create a better connection with people. All things that are valued by fiercely independent Gen Z. Therefore, a gig economy is a better fit for them.

Multiple jobs

Personal focus
With the rise of the digital age, Gen Z has become more mobile, with the freedom to work from anywhere. This is regarded as a major reason for the rise of the gig economy, which facilitates greater work-life balance, making one’s own schedule and the freedom to focus on personal interests.

Work-life balance
The gig economy is quite flexible with competitive payouts, a variety of projects and the ability to function independently. It allows the Gen Z workforce to work on projects of their choice and have a healthy work-wife balance as well.

Lacks job security
The gig economy creates financial inequality in society as these jobs don’t offer much salary despite demanding a high skill-set. Also, gig workers lack job security as one can be fired at any time for the slightest of mistakes.

No paid leaves
Unlike a regular employee, a gig worker has no health insurance, paid leave or provident fund. How can that be good for anyone?
