Filmstars can be good role models because they can inspire many to take action. Some of them believe in an environment-friendly life and leverage their fame to influence others.

Right values

There are filmstars who do a lot of good and such people can definitely be role models. Take Preity Zinta who received an honorary doctorate from the University of East London, UK, for her humanitarian work. Her acceptance speech, arguing for getting an education and standing on one’s feet, is inspirational.

Health ambassador

Filmstars teach us to be positive and deal with criticism the right way. Their fit bodies are a reminder that staying healthy is as important as doing well in studies. Also, through the roles they play, filmstars help the young generation get a clearer picture of society.

Inspirational story

Filmstars have had to struggle long and hard to reach the pedestal they are now on. They have gone from broke to rich. The story of such a life can be an inspiration for students.

Misuse of power

Filmstars are generational influencers who implicitly drive the youth. Unfortunately, they have lately been endorsing practices that will have a negative impact on the youth. A prime example is the endorsement of various pan masalas. Lust for money should not drive them to promote such evils.

Mindset matters

What makes a person a role model is his or her contribution towards education and society. A filmstar, no matter how erudite, will therefore never be taken seriously.

Bad example

When students watch a film, they are charmed by the fake feats of the actors. In real life, we know of actors keeping illegal weapons, poaching antelope, driving drunk — all of which are very bad examples for students.
