Meet the speakers:
Meghdut Roy Chowdhury, Director, Global Operations, Techno India Group, and Founder, Offbeat CCU, Technopreneurs, Surrogate Ventures, Y-East: Armed with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Techno India Salt Lake, Chowdhury joined HEC Paris and finished his master’s in management with multiple exchange semesters at Stanford University and Tel Aviv University. He started his first independent venture at the age of 19 and has since donned multiple hats as an entrepreneur, public speaker, start-up mentor, music producer, community builder, and social changemaker, He is on a mission to redefine the future of education and calls himself a lifelong un-learner, disrupting the mediocre. He heads the entrepreneurship committee and skill development initiatives of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industries as vice-president.
Kaustav Majumdar, Head of StartUps, Incubation, and Acceleration, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research; and Adviser and Mentor, IIM Calcutta Innovation Park: An alumnus of the University of Southampton, University of Cambridge, and London Business School, where he was a Sloan Fellow, Majumdar has been committed to learning and relearning. His areas of work include behavioral assessment, experiential learning, cross-cultural effectiveness, digital and social media strategies, and incubation support to start-ups. Besides helping small businesses to grow, he takes great interest in working with young minds and educating them beyond the college level, expanding the horizons of traditional academia.
Aditya Baran Mallik, Founder & CEO - Best First Step Education Pvt Ltd: After completing his post-graduation in business management, Mallik acquired wide-ranging experience in branding, strategic planning, financial and business restructuring in diverse sectors such as consumer products, food, luxury, retail, hospitality, and infrastructure, which finally nudged him into the world of entrepreneurship. His venture, Best First Step Education Pvt Ltd, was a pioneer in social enterprise and vocational education in India. The project is funded and approved by the National Skill Development Corporation and an investee company of Kitendo Capital, Switzerland. Through its brand Institute for Quality Skill Training (IQST), it has implemented high social impact, outcome-linked skill development initiatives in multiple states in East and North-east India. Mallik’s second venture, GrasStart, focuses on self-employment and livelihood through grassroots-level start-up entrepreneurship. He is the principal consultant and adviser to the skill missions of multiple state governments. Mallik has received the Sankalp Award for Education & Vocational Training, the ICICI Foundation Inclusive India Award – Emerging Business, and the global Cordes Fellowship.
