The Lord of the Rings is perhaps one piece of
intellectual property that has remained compelling, despite multiple expansions
of its universe. The latest entrant to the list is an animated film, titled, The
Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.
Warner Bros announced the release date of this movie about
an ‘older tale’ with a motion poster. Set about 183 years before the original
trilogy, this is the second animated film of the LOTR universe, after
the 1978 movie The Lord of the Rings. The House of Helm Hammerhand has
been attacked by a Dunlending lord, forcing them to bring their forces to the
ancient fortress of Hornburg. With the stakes at an all time high, Helm’s
daughter Hela must find the strength within herself to lead the resistance
against their most formidable enemy yet. The project is being helmed by Kenji
Kamiyama, with Peter Jackson taking on the executive producer’s duties. The
voice cast is led by Brian Cox and Gaia Wise, with Miranda Otto reprising her
role as Eowyn from the original trilogy. Releasing on December 13, this is a
must-watch for all the LOTR fans out there!
