Hrithik Roshan is known to pull people into theatres with his magnetic appeal. He will lend this aura to acting coach Vinod Rawat’s upcoming film, Pushtaini, as a presenter. Rawat plays the role of a struggling actor in the film, who is caught in a huge scandal and has to return home to the mountains amidst a hostile family. What follows is a unique arc of redemption that promises to blow viewers away.
Roshan shared the film’s trailer on Instagram, along with a poignant story about how Rawat had put all his finances into the project and started shooting it in his native Uttarakhand during the lockdown. Roshan added that Rawat didn’t accept any help and was determined to make the film himself, despite being down to his last Rs 15,000.
In order to make do with the budget, many of the characters have been played by Rawat’s family. Among other big names, the film also has a cameo by Rajkummar Rao, who plays a fictionalised version of himself.
If you love independent cinema, go support this film when it hits cinemas theatres on June 21!
