Like robe Rabi (which
means Rabi or Rabindranath Tagore will always be there in Bengali), robe
Ray too. Bengali cultural heritage is incomplete without the contributions of
Ray, who turned 103-years-old on May 2. Celebrating the day, Satyajit Ray fans
met at one of the popular stops of the city — Kaffee Salzsee — organising a
memorable get-together with songs from Ray classics. The coming together of
youngsters and seniors made it even more special — with several generations
bonding around the legend.
The melodious gig was conceptualised, organised and performed by the band DRB on May 3, a day after Ray's birth anniversary. DRB joined hands with the artistes and made the show happen with Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne as the theme for the evening.
With a forecast of rain
and the weekend finally here, watch the reel, guess the songs, play them and
sing along. Because, there can’t just be one day to celebrate Satyajit Ray,
right?
