Javed Akhtar honoured by SOAS University

Shabana Azmi is brimming with pride, courtesy the recent honour conferred to hubby Javed Akhtar. The legendary poet-lyricist has been felicitated with Honorary Doctorate of Literature from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) university in London recently.
“Congratulations @jaduakhtar on being awarded Honorary Doctorate of Literature from SOAS @university of London” wrote Shabana, sharing a photograph from the ceremony with Javed himself and Farhan Akhtar, who joined them.
The SOAS citation mentions “A luminary in Indian cinema and literature, Javed Akhtar’s impact spans across writing, activism, and leadership,” and Javed has been awarded the degree for his writing prowess and activism in the arena of social justice.
