We thought Armand
Duplantis might take it easy after winning Olympic gold with a new world
record, but within just three weeks, he's back at it with yet another world
record. The Swedish-American pole vaulter set his 10th world record with a jump
of 6.26m, surpassing his Olympic record of 6.25m from just 21 days earlier. The
24-year-old secured gold at the Silesia Diamond League by clearing 6.15m, but
he wasn’t satisfied yet. Duplantis asked the officials to raise the bar, and
although he missed his first attempt, he quickly redeemed himself on the second
try, running around in joy after the successful jump.
One of the first things
he did was call his partner, Desiré Inglander , who couldn’t be there in person — a moment
that has touched our hearts. My Kolkata extends heartfelt congratulations to
Mondo Duplantis on his 10th world record. We know he has many more records
ahead, and we can’t wait to see him soar even higher. Check out his
record-breaking jump on Instagram.
