The Tolly Classic, the second leg of the Indian Golf Union’s (IGU) Eastern India Amateur Golf Feeder Tour 2022, concluded on a high note at the Tollygunge Club in sweltering heat on April 22. The tournament had over 60 participants across five categories — Amateurs, Mid-Amateurs, Seniors, Super Seniors and Ladies.

Tapash Sardar, a 23-year-old amateur golfer from Kolkata, won the main category with a score of 146, just one shot ahead of the tournament’s star and last year’s Order of Merit winner in the Mid-Amateurs, Abhishek Mitra from Hyderabad. As a result of his outstanding performance, Sardar is also the Order of Merit 2022’s new leader. Despite missing out on the top prize in the Amateurs category, Mitra took first place in the Mid-Amateurs division with a score of 147, followed by S.K. Rafick of Kolkata.
