Channels stay off air

The channels of three broadcasters remained off air for many cable TV subscribers for the fifth day on Wednesday. The channels were taken off air by Sony, Disney Star and Zee after a section of multi-system operators refused to implement a revised tariff structure notified by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. A petition filed by a section of cable operators against the new tariff structure was taken up in Calcutta High Court on Wednesday. A single-judge bench of Justice Suvra Ghosh fixed it for hearing on Monday.
