Metro Railway Kolkata has earned Rs 8.3 crore from scrap sales during the financial year 2021-22.
“Metro Railway has achieved remarkable scrap sale in the financial year 2021-2022 amidst Covid pandemic and post-pandemic economic condition,” stated a press release dated April 2.
Kolkata Metro exceeded the sales target of Rs 5cr from odds and ends, which the railway board had set this year.
During the 2020-21 financial year, Metro had earned 8.13cr from selling scrap and this year it saw an increase of 2.09 per cent.

Earlier this month, the carrier authorities revealed that Metro has earned Rs 19.45cr as non-fare revenue.
Kolkata Metro, which has generally been dependent on passenger revenue, has shown a renewed interest in generating non-fare revenue in the post-pandemic times.
