Arun Arora, general manager, Metro Railway, Kolkata and N.P. Sinha, zonal manager, Life Insurance Corporation of India Limited (LICI) inaugurated the newly co-branded LICI City Centre Metro station on Friday.
The inauguration ceremony took place on the City Centre station premises.
The co-branding of the City Centre Metro is one of the 12 Metro stations, five in the north-south corridor and seven in the east-west corridor, that have undergone similar co-branding.
Metro Railway has offered 1500sq feet of space in the City Centre Metro station to LICI. And LICI has added its name to the station name at all places where the station name is displayed.
LICI has also put their brand logo, colour and names at all the entry & exit gates of the station.
Earlier this month, Metro authorities signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Institute of Hotel Management for the co-branding of Park Street Metro station.
The co-branding initiatives are part of Indian Railways’ aim to increase non-fare revenue.
With the City Centre Metro station, the carrier authorities, for the first time, has handed over the co-branding rights of any of its stations to any public sector undertaking like LICI.
This tie-up will further strengthen the relations with Metro Railway and LICI. It will also pave the way for generating more non-fare revenue for the Metro Railway, said Arun Arora at the inauguration event.
