Manoj S. of Karnataka won the combined category of A&B Boys and B Boys with a two-under-par 68 and a total score of 282 at Tollygunge Club in the Indian Golf Union (IGU) West Bengal Junior Boys Golf Championship 2022, which culminated on October 14.

In the A&B combined category, Manoj was three shots better than the runner-up, Arjun Singh Bhatia, from Haryana, who was followed by Uttar Pradesh's Kanav Chauhan, who scored 291. Chauhan tied with another youngster from Uttar Pradesh, Aarav Shah, but won the third place on a count-back. Chauhan also finished second in category B Boys with a score of 291, followed by West Bengal's Anshul Mishra, who scored 295. In category C Boys, the clear winner was Delhi's Kartik Singh, who shot 205 to win by 15 strokes over Haryana's Arjunveer Shishir, who was followed by Prince Bainsla, who shot 224.

Sajiv Dhir, president, Tollygunge Club; Anil Bhargava, governing council member, IGU; Deep Banerjee, golf captain, Tollygunge Club; and Sreyon Chatterjee, golf vice-captain, Tollygunge Club, gave away the prizes at the ceremony organised on the pantiles of Tollygunge Club. The IGU West Bengal Junior Boys Golf Championship 2022 was a national-level golf competition that saw the participation of more than 75 boys from across India. The tournament’s format was individual stroke play and the boys competed over four days.

Elsewhere, after four days of thrilling rounds involving the country's best 50 golfers at the Golmuri Club, Jamshedpur, between October 11 and 14, Karnataka's Shaurya Binu scored 273 and won the IGU Jharkhand Amateur Golf Championship 2022. Anant S. Ahlawat of Haryana finished second, followed by Lt Col Shakti Singh in third and Delhi’s Tushar Pannu and Haryana’s Sachin Chauhan, both of whom tied for fourth place.
