Bidhannagar police arrest four snatching suspects

The accused have been identified as Bikram Mukherjee and Arup Sen, both residents of Tangra

Four men in their 20s have been arrested by Bidhannagar police for allegedly snatching gold chains from three women in Salt Lake and Dum Dum Park in northeast Kolkata.

Officers from Lake Town police station tracked down and arrested Sahil Singh Rajput and Raj Singh on Monday for allegedly stalking and snatching gold chains from two women in Dum Dum Park. Both women were robbed on September 1.

Rajput is from Shyampukur and Singh is a resident of Posta.

In Salt Lake, two bike-borne men had targeted an elderly woman who was out on her daily walk and snatched her gold chain on September 29.

The accused have been identified as Bikram Mukherjee and Arup Sen, both residents of Tangra.

They were arrested on Sunday by a team of officers from the Bidhannagar commissionerate and Bidhannagar South police station.
