Tridhara Sammilani celebrated its annual winter carnival, Tridhara Utsav,in association with The Telegraph , fromJanuary 20-26 at Tridhara Park in south Calcutta. The festival comprised an assortment of cultural events, exhibitions and fun activities.Visitors to the fair enjoyed a diversity of street food and delicious seasonal delicacies, browsed through the items showcased at the handicrafts fair, and enjoyed a flower show. Kids fun activities, contests and cultural programmes for people of all ages were among the biggest crowd-pullers. Handicrafts, home decor, handloom and handwoven clothing and accessories flew off the racks. The entire stretch of the road leading up to the park was decked up with fairy lights for the week-long fair, making the atmosphere colourful, bright and festive. Glimpses.

Children had fun at the kids’ section, indulging in activities like boating in a shallow pool, playing in a Bouncy Castle and more.

Hand-painted cloth and metallic danglers by Sajabo Jotone were a popular pick among young girls. Price range: Rs 50 to 300

Young people were found swarming around this stall by Tee Rex and Magic Lamp,which was selling graphic T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies with quirky prints (Price: Rs 600 onwards). Tie-dye saris (Rs 900 onwards) and crop tops were otherbestsellers of this brand.

A women’s wardrobe is incomplete without a Kantha-embroidered ensemble! Moonlight Boutique had a wide collection of kantha stitch saris in Dupion silk (Price: Rs 4,800),blouses, jackets (Price: Rs 850)and shawls.

Amar Boutique had an eye-catching collection of pure Bishnupuri silk kurtis(Price: Rs 2,000) and men cotton shirts (Price: Rs 600).

“I have been visiting Tridhara Utsav for seven years now.Tridhara Utsavhas such a family ambience with all the stalls put up and doing business together. I also get to meet a lot of familiar faces from the neighbourhood. Tridhara Utsavis as famous as the TridharaDurga Puja,” said SarmishthaBhaduri, who lives close by.

Harneet Sodi (left) and Keki Fatakya enjoyed the eveningtogether. “I got myself a perfume and planning to buy other things too,” said Harneet. “We were attracted to the place by the lights and were delighted to find such a wonderful collection of handicrafts here,” added Keki.
