The IGU Amateur East Zone, 2023 began on March 29 at Tollygunge Club, with My Kolkata as the digital partner. The tour, which was conceptualised and launched by Protouch Sports in 2018, will be played across Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Shillong and Assam for its fifth edition.
As in previous years, the top six amateur players will be invited to compete on the main IGU Men's Tour. Over the years, this tour has produced many champions, several of whom are now receiving national accolades, including golfers like Sandeep Yadav from Kolkata.
Every season, more than 400 individual golfers from across India participate in the tour, which has five categories — Amateur (13-34 years), Mid-Amateur (35-49 years), Senior (50-59 years), Ladies (Open category) and Super Senior (60 years and above).
The Champ for Life Academy will be the tour's education partner, Balaji Ads will be the outdoor media partner and Golfedge will be the online proshop partner. Keventer, the largest FMCG company in Eastern India, will sponsor giveaways for all participants.
