Seven-day exhibition-cum-sale of handicraft products begins at CCIC emporium

A seven-day exhibition-cum-sale of exclusive products created by skillful craftsmen from northeastern states began at the Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd’s emporium at 7, JL Nehru Road, Kolkata, from March 17.

The event is an endeavour of the office of development commissioner (handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, government of India.

Known for its indigenous earthy appeal and meticulous craftsmanship, the handmade creations from northeastern states have drawn worldwide attention.

The products showcased in the exhibition include a wide range of high quality handcrafted and authentic range of bamboo, grass, cane handicrafts, handloom textiles, pottery and jewellery, representing the traditions and cultural ethos of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.

The exhibition will remain open for visitors/buyers between 10am and 7.30pm.
