Metro disrupted

A snag disrupted Metro services on the north-south corridor (Blue line) in the busy evening hours of Tuesday. The Dakshineswar-bound line was crippled for over 30 minutes from 5.55pm. Many passengers waited on trains and platforms. "At 5.55pm, due to some technical problem, an Up Metro could not be berthed properly at Rabindra Sarobar station. After proper berthing, the train has been vacated at 6.12pm," the carrier said in a formal note. A Metro official said it meant that the train did not stop at the designated spot on the station platform. "It went a little beyond the earmarked area before stopping. We did not want to take any chances and the train was vacated and taken to the Noapara car shed. It left Sarobar at 6.16pm," the official said. "Services on the Up line are normal now," the carrier said around 6.45pm
