The Annual Wine and Dine of Calcutta Wine Club in association with t2, was a gala night of wine connoisseurs, feasting, grooving and insightful unknown wine facts. With a carefully curated five-course meal, paired with five different wines mostly from Italy, it was the classic annual soirée. The ambience at Hyatt Regency Kolkata was warm and definitive. President of CWC, Dr Debasis Datta, said, “Tonight is a special night. I extend my gratitude to the dedicated members whose enthusiasm has made this club flourish. Together we savour exceptional vintages, discovering new wines and cultivating lasting friendship.”

The Zonin Ventiterre Chianti DOCG was paired seamlessly with an exquisite Pan-seared Butter Garlic Salmon that consisted of caramelised fig, lime-drizzled baby arugula, candied walnut and a poached egg.

DANCE & MUSIC

Greig Francis lightened up the night with his energetic music and excellent guitar skills. He played songs like My Heart Goes Sha La La La La, Hey Caroline and Bolly hits like Oye oye.

Chirajit and Anusua Chaudhuri swayed to the melodious music while several others joined them on the dance floor.

MOODS AND MOMENTS

Calcutta Wine Club members were suited up smartly for the annual dinner. (L-R) Anil Vaswani, Raja Basu, Gora Dutta, Dr Debasis Datta, Rajan Vaswani, Smarajit Mitra, Rajesh Basu Majumdar and Ashish Agarwal.

The ladies showed up in glitter and glam as they enjoyed their wine. Chandreyi Mitra (third from right) noted, “This is an event we wait for the whole year and it is worth the wait.” (L-R) Nupur Vaswani, Jhhilli Basu Majumdar, Sweta Agarwal, Chandreyi Mitra, Dr Sujata Datta and Priya Agarwal.

Kumar Shobhan, general manager of Hyatt Regency Kolkata, said, “This is our sixth year hosting the Annual Wine and Dine for CWC at Hyatt and it has been a pleasure. I love tasting new wines and sit-down dinners. I wouldn’t call myself a connoisseur but I enjoy good wine."
