Kolkata Pride organised its first-ever Kolkata Queer Arts Month on December 12 at the Kolkata Centre for Creativity. The launch was curated by Kallol Datta with the Eu(social) — rise, aftermath and re-emergence. It encapsulated the meanings of queer experiences and amassed artists, thinkers and collectives whose works and practices define the labour of navigating spaces, the politics and the outpouring of hatred in the face of a queer existence. The edition ran between December 8 and January 3 at KCC and Experimenter.

The Kolkata Queer Arts Month brought together queer and allied artists to create viable queer ecosystems to thrive at a point of time where queer rage must also find an avenue of expression along with queer joy. The launch was hosted by Kolkata Pride initiators Navonil Das and Anindya Hajra. The event also had the support of Keshav Suri from The Lalit Great Eastern. An afterparty was hosted by Suri at The Lalit too.
