Blend of art, hospitality and inclusivity wins hearts at SHE RISE Season 1

A look at the vibrant celebration bringing together diverse voices and talents from Bengal

SHE RISE Season 1 celebrated diversity, empowered small-scale entrepreneurs, and promoted hospitality and tourism with a focus on inclusivity.

Organised by Boho Good Life Mantra (BGLM) and Wicci WB Hospitality and Tourism Council, the event started with an engaging yoga fusion performance by Madhusatta Choudhary, creating a serene atmosphere.

The event was the brainchild of Anindita Roy Sanyal and Sarathi Sanyal, who are also the co-curators and orchestrators. Moreover, Anindita Roy Sanyal is the founder of BGLM and the state president of Wicci WB Hospitality and Tourism Council.

Next on the cards was a panel discussion on ‘The Evolving Synergy of Art, Creativity, Tourism, and Hospitality Industries of Bengal’ featuring experts like Sudarshan Chakravorty, Santanu Guha Thakurata, Reena Dewan, Amita Misra and moderator Paromita Ghosh.

Students from Sapphire International Dance Academy enthralled the audience with a contemporary dance performance on Sadhguru’s verse, marking the PRIDE month and promoting inclusivity. Dancers Abrar Saqib and Bijoy Sharma received significant acclaim. The Bidhannagar deputy commissioner of police, Aneesh Sarkar, attended as the chief guest, alongside personalities such as Raju Barman, the co-owner of Rupa Publishers and joint secretary of Publishers and Booksellers Guild, Avijit Roy, the founder and owner of National Human Rights Council, rhythm maestro and music composer Pandit Mallar Ghosh and environmentalist Swati Nandy Chakraborty. The event was lauded for bringing together leaders, artistes and performers under one roof.

The award ceremony honoured achievers in two categories — Luminary Achiever and Pioneer of Progress. Luminary achievers included Ekta Bhattacharjee, Shwapnil Shojib, KOI Worldwide, and Samita Halder, while Sudip Bera, Partha Mukherjee, and Prabir Sarkar were recognised as pioneers of progress. Members of the Boho Good Life Mantra Women Empowerment Community were also celebrated.

The ramp walk featured internet personalities like Lopamudra Mandal and Raunaq Anwar, along with models like Devika Ghosh, Heena Aftab, Bhramori Roy, Mimssi, Dipannita Basu and Upen Bin. Additionally, a live art auction showcased works by five senior artists from ARTISTIQUE. The organising committee, including Debarati Roy, Moumita Mukherjee, Ginny Gandhi Raja, Anindita Chatterjee, Sutanuka Bhattacharje, and Rupsa Basu, was guided by Calcutta Social Gupshup.

“SHE RISE Season 1 is a unique platform that brings together art, creativity, hospitality, and tourism of Bengal, enriching the state’s cultural landscape. The programme showcased the talents of diverse trailblazers. I hope future seasons are just as vibrant,” Bidhannagar DCP, Aneesh Sarkar IPS told My Kolkata.

Goodwill ambassador Rajib Roy Chowdhury, senior general manager of Vedic Village Spa & Resort, added: “SHE RISE 1 was a vibrant tapestry of art, creativity, hospitality, tourism, and inclusivity. It highlighted the heroes and gems of Bengal, igniting passion and progress. Kudos to WICCI and BGLM for creating such a representative platform.”
