With the smell of spices and the noise of dicing and chopping filling up the air at Almond Banquets in Sector V on May 14, 15 teams from ICC Young Leaders Forum gathered up to put in their best at Master Chef — a cook-off and a sort of fiesta we can say! What was cooking? Well, the 15 teams of people from all walks of life participated in the cook-off divided into two rounds each. They had to prepare a starter and a mocktail and the second round was all about the main course served! Dishes plated to perfection, air filled with delicious aroma and taste worth tingling your tastebuds were tasted and critiqued by celebrity Chef Sharad Dewan and assisted by Chef Clement D Cruz. It was an event made special by the brilliant decor done up for the occasion by Pepsi Kalwani and Shiv Karira from UD Events & More.

The winners were announced for all eight categories, including the top three teams, the team with the best name, the best-dressed team, the ones who made the most innovative dish, the cleanest station and lastly, a special prize for the first registered team. The teams were as follows — Culinary Crusaders, The Spicy Squads, Spicy 8, Slice, Slice, Baby!, The Culinarians, Cooks & Crooks, What the Fork!, Crooked Cooks, Zonfrillo’s Kitchenette, The Cereal Killers, Holy Smokes, Fork You, SALT, Tipsy Chefs and The Flaming Marshmallows led by different team captains. Each team had a set time to gather the ingredients, put them all in place, prepare the meal and plate the dishes, after which Sharad Dewan went and had a look while the captain explained the dish. The clock kept ticking as TT witnessed the participants give their best shot!
