City designer Debarun Mukherjee launched a special collection, Purusha Prakriti, that balances timeless elegance with contemporary designs. Inspired by the concepts of ‘Purusha’ and ‘Prakriti’, the collection merges classic silhouettes with innovative designs.
With a focus on gender neutrality, the capsule collection promotes clothing that transcends traditional gender-specific norms, emphasising inclusivity and fluidity. Making a bold statement this Puja, Debarun challenges conventional ideas of masculinity and encourages men to embrace diverse expressions of identity, free from the constraints of traditional gender roles.
“Our collection integrates ‘Prakriti’ by embracing natural elements and sustainability. We use natural fabrics like organic cotton, linen, and hemp, combined with earthy textures such as raw silk. The designs draw inspiration from nature through palettes of browns, greens, and blues, alongside botanical and geometric patterns. Sustainable production methods, minimalistic designs, and functional elements that reflect nature’s balance further enhance this concept.
Accessories made from wood or stone and footwear crafted with natural materials deepen the connection to nature. This collection is more than just a fashion statement, it represents a meaningful connection between timeless elegance and the ever-evolving rhythms of nature and society,” said Debarun.
