The second entry to Tatanagar railway station from the Burmamines end will soon witness more footfall of passengers.
The engineering wing of Chakradharpur railway division on Wednesday started work on connecting the second entry with the new foot overbridge. Station director H.K. Balmuchu said the work would get over in another three months or so.
“The second entry at the Burmamines end currently witnesses a footfall of around 1,000 passengers daily. Currently, passengers entering the station from the Burmamines side are required to walk through a ramp constructed along the road overbridge which leads them to platform number 1. After getting into the platform (read No. 1) they move to different platforms for catching trains of their destinations. Once the second footbridge is made operational, passengers can directly move to different platforms after entering the station from the Burmamines end,” explained Balmuchu.
The second entrance helps passengers coming from areas like Sakchi, Golmuri, Baridih, Agrico and Telco.
