To support women self-help groups (SHGs) and farmers in and around Jamshedpur, Jojobera’s Tata Power is facilitating the marketing of farmers’ perishable produce.

The private power major with its partner AIDENT, a social welfare organisation, helped market nearly 30,000kg of vegetables and muskmelons produced by farmers largely from Khairboni, Domjuri, Nutandih, Khakripara villages to the local mandis of Jamshedpur and in the nearby districts of Dhanbad and Ranchi.

Praveer Sinha, the CEO and MD of Tata Power, said: “We are all facing an unprecedented challenge, one that demands unity by helping each other in these trying times. We are proud to extend our support and ensure the continuity of livelihood earnings for the farmers of these regions and help them in whatever way we can go forward.”

He said the company is helping the local communities overcome adversity and emerge stronger by creating robust facilities to help them lead a sustainable life.

Another official who co-ordinates with the SHGs said keeping in mind the supply of essential goods and commodities for the community, the company responded immediately by extending help towards maintaining the livelihood and access to essential commodities for the community.
