Tankers deployed by Dhanbad Municipal Corporation to wash hands

The civic body on Tuesday deployed 12 water tankers so that people can wash their hands to ward off the COVID-19 threat.

Six tankers have been deputed in Dhanbad circle: near the Dhanbad Municipal Corporation office on Luby Circular Road, near Shakti Mandir in Joraphatak, Randhir Verma Chowk on Court Road, Steel Gate in Saraidhela, Shramik Chowk near Dhanbad station and City Centre on Gandhi Chowk. Two tankers, at Ward Number 36 and Ward Number 44, have been set up in the Jharia circle. Two tankers have been placed in Sindri circle, one at Pathardih Jai Hind Mor and another at Mohan Bazar, one has been posted at Kenduadih in Chhatatand circle, and one tankers has been stationed at Ward Number 3 in Katras Bazar area of Katras circle.

The tankers were placed on the instruction of municipal commissioner Chandramohan Kashyap.

“We have also made arrangement for soap along with the tankers and the tankers may be shifted to other places as per the exigency depending on the gathering of people,” said Ritesh Kumar, executive officer of Chhatatand circle.

Counters to sell masks and sanitizers at Dhanbad Sadar Hospital are likely to be set up from Wednesday.
