Chief minister Raghubar Das on Friday referred to the NDA as an alliance of faith as opposed to the Grand Opposition Alliance, a potpourri of confusion and adulteration.
Das was speaking at a meeting of the NDA allies at the state BJP headquarters in Harmu.
The meeting, which began at noon and continued till 1.30pm, was attended by Sudesh Mahto from Ajsu Party, Virendra Pradhan from Lok Janshakti Party, Shailendra Mahto from JDU and Prakash Singh from Nav Jawan Sangharsh Morcha.
BJP state present Lakshman Gilua and BJP state in-charge Mangal Pandey were also present.
“Hamara gathbandhan vishwas ka gathbandhan hai jabki maha gathbandha maha milawat aur uljhan ka gathbandhan hai,” Das said.
The chief minister asked the NDA partners to conduct a joint campaign to ensure victory from all seats.
“We should organise a meeting on a district level on April 11 and block level on April 16 to ensure victory in all the 14 parliamentary seats for the NDA in the state,” Das said.
He also stressed the need for proper co-operation between workers of the allied parties.
“Hamara gatbandhan sirf dal ka gathbandhan na ho, balki ek ek karyakarta ka dil se dil ke gathbandhan ho (Our alliance should not be a coalition of political parties, but an alliance of hearts),” Das said.
Reacting to Das’s statement, JMM general secretary and spokesperson Vinod Pandey quoted a line from Ramayana.
However, he replaced a word “hari murat” (god’s idol) with “mahagathbandhan” to explain that everything depends upon a person’s perspective. “Jaki rahi bhavna jaisi mahagatbandhan dekhi tini taisi (A person’s attitude determines how he sees the alliance),” Pandey said.
He said the NDA was an alliance of 42 parties while the Grand Opposition Alliance was a coalition of hardly 16 parties.
“Now time will say which one is an alliance of faith and which one is a alliance of adulteration and confusion. The NDA should declare its candidates from Ranchi, Chatra and Koderma seats to test its strength in the state,” he added.
