Chatra: Police in Chatra finally managed to solve two separate cases related to murders of a girl and a minor boy. Police said the girl was murdered by her three lovers whereas the boy was killed by two who wanted to establish a relationship with his girlfriend. The first case took place in the Karmali forest under Sadar police station where a girl was strangled on November7. Police found the dead body after being informed by local villagers and identified her as Babita Kumari(19) of Masuriyatari village. Her brother Shitan Ganjhu lodged an FIR against unidentified men for killing her. Superintendent of police Rakesh Ranjan formed a team led by subdivisional police officer(SDPO) to probe the sensational murder case. Police soon came to know that Babita was having an affair with one Satyendra Ganjhu of the village. Police grilled him but he tried to mislead them by telling that there are three more persons of his name and he was not the one with whom Babita was having affair. But when police interrogated him strictly, he admitted killing her with two of her lovers. He named the other two as Lalu Ganjhu and Mahesh Ganjhu. He said Babita was having affair with him but she was also entertaining the other two.

Palamau Kila Jatra Mela enhances Raja's image
A glimpse from the mela The Telegraph
Daltonganj: The two-day Palamau Kila Jatra Mela, ended on two notes, said the local tribal Congress MLA Ramchander Singh who was one of the many tribals to declare this Mela open on Friday to a tumultuous crowd of 10,000 tribals. The first note was to protect and conserve the two kilas built by the Chero dynasty. The kilas were built between 1766 - 1777. The name that goes popularly with these Palamau Kilas is of Raja Medini Rai. Raja Medini Rai is highly venerated by tribals. No politician can afford not to mention his name as then his political sensex is set to crash. Congress MLA Ramchander Singh said they garlanded the statue of Raja Medini Rai sitting atop a horse. The kilas are in a state of ruining. It is decaying. The Congress MLA said the more these kilas wither the more its historicity goes up. He said survey of these kilas has been done by the team of the archeological suvey of India.
The second note was equally important. The tribals agreed to declare that Raja Medini Rai is 'Raja' of all the people. The Congress MLA said it was agreed upon that tribal Raja is not of the tribal only but of the whole long range of the non tribal people. The Palamau Kila Jatra Mela although apolitical in nature holds key to the electoral politics in this region.
