Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur FC on Saturday completed the signing of Nigerian forward Daniel Chima Chukwu for the remainder of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 season.
Chima, who has amassed a total of 273 appearances in his professional football career, scoring 93 goals and assisting another 44, will don squad number 99 for Jamshedpur FC.
The Telegraph Online had reported on Friday that Chima was set to don the Jamshedpur jersey for the remainder of the ISL 2021-22 season.
On signing the dotted line, the 30-year-old Chima said.: “I am delighted and honoured to have signed for a prestigious club like Jamshedpur FC. I am really happy the club saw my potential and that the coach and management put faith in me. I will fight my level best to help the team reach their deserved target and bring glory and smiles to the fans of Jamshedpur.”
Chima helped Norwegian heavyweights Molde FK to three league titles and guided them to two Norwegian Cup titles during his first stint with the club between 2010-2015. The Nigerian also celebrated two of his three league titles with former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær, who was in charge of Molde from 2011-2014.
Jamshedpur FC Head Coach, Owen Coyle was delighted to get Chima on board as he said: “Chima is an outstanding player who knows how important it is to be part of a team. He is a proven winner who will add to our already exciting strikers. He was my immediate target and we are delighted to bring him to Jamshedpur FC at an important time of the season and we look forward to working with him.”

Illegal liquor factory busted

Dhanbad: Dhanbad police busted a mini liquor factory operating from a food grain godown situated in Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) operated market place at Raj ground in Jharia about eight kms from Dhanbad district headquarters.
Police also arrested six persons including one arm wielding criminal and seized a 7.65 mm pistols, two live cartridges besides a host of articles used in preparinng and packaging liquor and also recovered huge quantity of liquor stocks during the raid.
Pankaj Kumar Jha, Officer in Charge of Jharia police who conducted the raid at the food grain godown said, “We received information last evening about some illegal activity going on at Raj ground Jharia, through the Senior Superintendent of police , Sanjeev Kumar sir after which we reached at the site to found PDS food grain stock lying illegally stacked in one room”
On the further inspection of area we found huge quantity of illicit liquor besides bottes, wrappers, and corks, cartons, besides sprit suggesting the illegal preparation of liquor and also its packaging and supply from the site.
“On further raids conducted by the police on the house of owner of godown, Shivji Yadav we also recovered a county made 7.65 mm pistol from the possession of One Deepak Kumar Yadav (26), son of house owner Shivji Yadav” divulged Jha.
The other five persons arrested by police with regard to illicit liquor den operation, included, Gauri Shankar Yadav (62), Bridev Kumar Gupta (30), Vikas Kumar Yadav (29) alias Vikash Rai, Nitish Yadav (19) and Jai Bahadur Pandey (50).
