IMD's Ranchi Met Centre on Wednesday issued a special bulletin, forecasting heavy rain and hail in isolated areas of north-eastern Jharkhand on Friday, February 4.
The north-eastern parts cover districts like Sahebganj, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih and Deoghar.
Head of Ranchi Met Centre, Abhishek Anand said the rain would be due to the impact of a western disturbance passing through mid-tropospheric levels with its axis at 5.8 Km.
He said under its influence, an induced cyclonic circulation is likely to form over western Rajasthan by tonight.
Generally cloudy sky would prevail on Thursday, February 4 with light to moderate rain at most places over Jharkhand.
The forecast for February 4 indicated heavy rain in isolated pockets of north- eastern Jharkhand and possibility of hail in some parts of northern and central Jharkhand.
Generally cloudy sky with light rain at isolated places over north-east and adjoining central Jharkhand is expected on Saturday, February 5.
Dry weather is most likely to prevail from Sunday, February 6 with fog or mist in the morning and clear sky later.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed over Jharkhand during the past 24 hours.
The highest maximum temperature if 29.8°C was recorded at Chaibasa while the lowest minimum temperature of 8.2°C was recorded at Godda.
The Met office forecast indicated rise in minimum temperature by 2-3 °C during the next two days, thereafter fall by 3-5°C during the subsequent three days across the state.
