It was a day of achievement as well as failure for Dhanbad police as police arrested four criminals involved in different cases of loot. In contrast, four others escaped from police custody giving a slip to police personnel in the Jorapokhar police station area.
The arrested persons including Raja Ansari alias Sajid, Md Firoz Ansari, Hemant Kewat, and Aslam Hussain, who were involved in different cases of loot are part of the same gang and were arrested from a hideout in Sudamdih police station area during a raid conducted based on tip-off during which they were planning a dacoity incident.
Talking to the media, Sanjeev Kumar, Senior Superintendent of police of Dhanbad said, "We recovered a country-made pistol besides two live cartridges, two mobile phones, two bikes, Rs 1850 cash besides the T-Shirt worn during one the incident besides some other articles from the arrested persons who have been sent to jail after completing the legal formalities.
Giving details of a few incidents of the recent past in which the four persons arrested today were involved Kumar said, " they were involved in the robbery of Rs 49 thousand cash from a woman in Bhagaband Police station area; loot of Rs 70 thousand cash from a trader in Agriculture Produce Market Committee owned market complex at Barwaddah and snatching of Rs 2 lakh cash from a trader in Bhagatdih locality of Jharia".
Notably, Dhanbad police have launched a crackdown against both organized crime and other incidents of loot dacoity, etc. Five members of the gang of Prince Khan, a gangster of Wasseypur were arrested yesterday.
Meanwhile, four other criminals arrested by Dhanabd police from Saraidhela police station who were involved in a recent case of vandalism that took place in the Jorapokhar Police station area escaped from the police custody giving a slip to the police. Police meanwhile have launched a search to arrest the escaped criminals.
