After a lull for a couple of months, residents were witness to a political campaign, this time by two former BJP chief ministers who went door-to-door in Ranchi on Wednesday to propagate the achievements of the Modi government that has completed a year in office in its second innings at the Centre.
While Raghubar Das visited Adarsh Nagar Colony in Dhuruwa, Babulal Marandi covered areas off Kadru Diversion Road. Das also held a meeting of the BJP workers, numbering around 80, before going out with them to distribute leaflets listing out the Modi government’s achievements among residents of the colony.
“Pakistan ko jawab deneke liye Modi jaisa leader payda hua (a leader like Modi was born to give befitting reply to Pakistan),” Das said in praise of the “56 inch-wala Prime Minister” and reminded everyone present about the surgical strikes carried out during his tenure.
“Ghar me ghus ke jawab diya (gave the reply after entering their territory),” Das said, in case anyone missed the point.
Das was also all-praise for Modi for the abrogation of Article 370 that, he said, had helped solve, “ek jhataka me (in one stroke)”, the long-standing Kashmir problem. Describing Kashmir as the “crown” of the country, he said the move helped to fly the Tricolor in the valley.
Das also gave the credit of solving the Ayodhya crisis to Modi and said a bhabya (decent) Ram Mandir would now be built at the place considered sacred by the Hindus as Mecca-Madina and Rome were for Muslims and Christians respectively.
“It was Modiji who tried to give citizenship to the Hindus and others who suffered religious oppression in other countries,” Das further said, referring to the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Former chief minister Babulal Marandi was accompanied by Ranchi MLA C. P. Singh and party workers as they toured several areas, including Kadru Diversion Road. They met people at their homes and distributed leaflets that listed key achievements of the Modi government.
