The Election Commission of India on Friday approved the merger of JVM with the BJP. The commission informed that the JVM party and its election symbol now ceased to exist.

Hunger deaths

CPI-ML MLA Vinod Singh on Friday said that the government in a written reply to him had not accepted that there had been any starvation death in the last five years in the state. Singh also said that the government has also not accepted that any student has suffered due to closure of 6,000 schools in the name of merger in the state or that any local youth has suffered due to the domicile policy.
