The quarantine centres in Bokaro reflects a great example of brotherhood as people belonging to Muslim and Hindu communities celebrated Eid-ul-Fitar jointly on Monday.
Seveiya, sweets and fruits were offered by the district administration.
New towels were given to offer namaz. Children were gifted soft toys.
The Eid celebration in 181 operational quarantine centres was a brainchild of deputy commissioner, Mukesh Kumar and IAS officer, sub-divisional officer of Chas, Shashi Prakash Singh.
The district administration ensured residents offered namaz at homes in this lockdown.
There are atleast 6,500 persons in district quarantine.

“The breakfast menu was entirely different from usual days with bread, jam, milk and packaged water bottle was served to the migrant workers. In lunch they were offered delicious seveiyan kheer. They were also given towels using which they offered namaz on the day,” said SDO.
A migrant worker who arrived from Maharastara in a quarantine centre in Bermo said, “Seveiya was really tasty as it contains cardamom, cashew and raisins and more ingredients than that we usually have in our homes. Though we are in quarantine, but happy that we celebrated Eid in our hometown.”
“Due to Eid we added varieties into the meals of the persons staying in centres. Seveiya is an integral part of Eid celebration. However the festival passes peacefully as people celebrated it with joy and gaiety offering namaz in their homes, maintaining social distance,” said SDO.
Mukesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, extended heartfelt wishes to the residents for celebrating Eid ul Fitr festival. Kumar said, in view of the increasing cases of Covid-19,, residents were asked to celebrate Eid in their houses. Law and order had been maintained by the district administration. Police patrolling was intensified during the day.
Chandan Kumar Jha, SP, Bokaro, had asked residents to use social media, which was welcomed and followed by many. Meanwhile Police kept close monitoring on social media to avert any untoward comments that could spoil the festive atmosphere.
