Tata Steel has developed isolation and quarantine cabins in a bid to augment treatment facilities amid the surge in Covid-19 cases in the country.
The company’s modular, steel-based construction
solutions unit Nest-In has already installed isolation and quarantine cabins at Kasargod (Kerala), Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), Angul, Sambalpur and Keonjhar (all in Odisha) and Ramgarh, Chaibasa and Ranchi (all in Jharkhand).
“As the nation faces one of the most challenging times in history, it is our endeavour to provide the best physical infrastructure to augment the larger efforts undertaken across the country to treat and contain Covid-19. The quarantine and isolation cabins designed and manufactured by Nest-In will be a key aspect of these efforts. Our professionals are leaving no stone unturned to deliver customised solutions to the healthcare sector.
“We are committed to creating solutions for any industry which needs support to contain the spread of Covid-19,” said chief services and solutions, Tata Steel, P. Anand.
According to company sources, the present manufacturing facilities can supply up to 25 quarantine or isolation cabins every week, which can house 125 beds. “Nest-In has enabled smooth manufacturing and timely supply of quarantine and isolation cabins across the country. The company is also in discussion with health authorities of different states to explore the possibilities of setting up Nest-In Covid-19 units across the country,” said a senior official of the company.
Incidentally, Nest-In has already supplied portable toilets to Sambalpur (Odisha) and ICU cabins to Ramgarh (Jharkhand).
“We are open to creating such customised construction solutions for multiple sectors and forging collaborations that will aid in containing the spread of Covid-19 and enable safety of healthcare workers and frontline warriors. We provide one-stop convenient construction solutions, quick construction of units with light weight and better seismic resistance,” a source said.
Nest-In prefab solutions are suitable for housing, modular toilets, smart toilets, industrial buildings and portable cabins, among others.
