Aiming at adding to the attraction of urban parks of Dhanbad, Dhanbad Municipal Corporation (DMC) has launched a drive to ramp up their facilities with the installation of gadgets like generator sets, musical laser fountain and CCTV cameras.

Installation work of CCTV Cameras at the newly renovated and beautified Golf Ground Park has already started while a silent diesel generator set is likely to be installed in the same park within a month.

Notably, the DMC plan to install the generators sets in different parks, including Golf Ground, Birsa Munda Park, Lilori Sthan Park and Rajendra Sarovar (Bekar Bandh Park) is aimed at beefing up the security arrangements besides ensuring alternative lighting arrangement in park to cope with power cuts during evening.

Dhanbad Municipal Commissioner, Satyendra Kumar while talking media said, “Some silent diesel generator sets procured to be installed in the five circle offices of DMC four years ago are lying unused since long and we will use these sets to light the park during power cuts during evening.”

The DG generator sets will be operational till 9 pm as the visitors of the park used to face great difficulties due to power cuts during the evening.

Divulging details, about the ongoing installation work of the CCTV cameras, Shamsher Singh, manager of M/S Pratap Developers the contractor which has carried out renovation and beautification of park for DMC and presently also entrusted with the responsibility of maintenance work of the park said, “Altogether 34 CCTV cameras area to be installed in Golf Ground park and three of them have already been installed while installation work of remaining is under progress” and added that silent diesel generator sets installation will be completed within a month.

Notably the newly renovated Golf ground park equipped with a host of facilities including an open gymnasium, children playing arena, jogging track, yoga centre which has been thrown open for common people since December last year serves as a major crowd puller for Dhanbad as more than 10 thousand people visit the park on daily basis.

The DMC as part of a move to add new facilities to the Golf Ground Park has also decided to install musical laser fountains in the park very soon.

Notably, laser fountains are already operational in two parks of Dhanbad town area including Birsa Munda Park and Rajendra Sarovar and DMC has decided to install one musical laser fountain each in Golf Ground and Lilori Sthan park.
