Sunil Kumar Sinha, an alumnus of BIT-Mesra, has proposed to set up a centre of excellence at his alma mater and he discussed it with the faculty and students of the institute on Monday.
The proposed centre is aimed at grooming a pool of skilled technical persons who will be able to address challenges faced by the industry.
Sinha, a 1986 BIT-Mesra passout, is a professor and the director of the Sustainable Water Infrastructure Management Centre under Virginia Tech of the US.
He spoke at BIT-Mesra on Monday on sustainability and resilience of water infrastructure system and establishing a water centre.
“Modalities are yet to be worked out,” a faculty member said when asked about the centre Sinha has proposed.
