A dreamy affair
“Lifelong love just became official”. It’s with these words that Varun Dhawan sealed the deal with girlfriend Natasha Dalal. The childhood friends — who have known each other since the sixth grade at the Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School in Mumbai — got married at a private ceremony at the Mansion House in Alibaug on Sunday.

The wedding was an intimate affair with only 50 guests. In attendance, besides the families of the bride and groom, were Varun’s mentor Karan Johar, who introduced the actor to Bollywood nine years ago with Student of the Year, and film-maker Shashank Khaitan who has directed Varun in films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Also present were director Kunal Kohli and actress Zoa Morani, a childhood friend of Varun’s. There is no word yet on a date for the reception to be held in Mumbai.

Designer Manish Malhotra — who is related to Varun from his mother’s side — dressed the groom for the big day in an ivory sherwani which had gold and silver zardozi work, layered with a celeste blue drape and paired with custom encrusted embroidered shoes. Natasha, who is a bridal designer, wore her own design, bypassing the usual reds and pinks for a pastel lehnga in dual tones of silver and gold embroidery. She complemented it with a diamond necklace with a statement emerald pendant, earrings with pearl drops, maangtika and silver kalire.

Varun had some fun during the Haldi ceremony, sharing this fun picture of himself flexing his biceps. In unofficial photos of the Haldi rituals shared on social media, his friends could be seen posing in white T-shirts with names of the actor’s screen characters like ‘Raghu’, ‘Badri’ and ‘Seenu’.
